The NFL season is here once again so it’s time for fantasy league team owners to review their 2010 rosters. Most owners drool at the mention of a top-five running backs, but I think at least three QB’s are going to be ranked near the top in scoring this season. Check out my QB picks. A couple of the names may surprise but they shouldn’t.
Matt Schaub– The Houston Texans QB had his best season as a pro in 2009. He threw for 4,770 yards, 29 TD’s and only 15 INT’s. His team was on the verge of making the playoffs, but fell short. He and his favorite target, All-Pro WR Andre Johnson, will definitely rack up the yards and TD’s in 2010. If he’s still available in your Fantasy League, pick him up, I did.
Aaron Rodgers- Brett Favre, who? That’s the most likely answer you’ll receive from cheeseheads these days. The Green Bay Packers found a franchise QB in Rodgers. He had a breakout year in 2009. 30 TD’s, 7 INT’s and 4,434 yards help Rodgers become a ProBowl selection. With an improved offensive line, Ryan Grant and a host of receivers, Rodgers will have another MVP-like season. Didn’t manage to draft him in my league though, he was already taken before my first selection.
Alex Smith– Two years ago, the San Francisco 49ers had all but given up on their 2005 1st overall draft pick. QB’s J.T. O’Sullivan and Shaun Hill were handed the starting job on separate occasions, but midway through the 2009 season Smith was give another chance. He threw 18 TD’s, 12 INT’s and 2,350 yards in 9 games last season. For the first time in his career, he’s gonna have the same offensive coordinator from the previous season. With many weapons, Smith should put up huge numbers. The 49ers may finally get what they paid for in the form of TD’s and wins.
