Brett Favre Is Finally Retiring

According to the Star Tribune in Minneapolis and ESPN, for the third time in three years, Vikings QB Brett Favre has decided to call in quits.

Brett Favre was expected to return to the Minnesota squad after undergoing ankle surgery in April, but reports indicate that his ankle has not healed properly.

If this is truly it, Favre retires with most major QB records. He’s thrown for over 69,000 yards, 497 TD’s and has had 285 consecutive starts.

With Favre’s sudden retirement, the Vikings are left in a precarious position. The team did not sign a QB in the off season, so they’re back to where they started before Favre came to town. Their expected starter is Tavaris Jackson with Sage Rosenfels as the back-up.
