Tomlin receives 3-year extension with Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, Mike Tomlin, has received a 3-year contract extension through 2014.

The 38-year-old led the franchise to its sixth Super Bowl title in the 2008 season and is 31-17 in three seasons.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Tomlin’s new deal, in particular the financial terms, haven’t been disclosed. Currently, Tomlin earns $2.5M a season which were the terms of his 5-year deal made in 2007.

The Steelers have only had three coaches over the past 30+ years, so this move comes as no surprise to the sports world.

Pittsburgh missed the playoffs last season, but finished 9-7.
