With a 116-107 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night the young, inexperienced Warriors led their coach to his record setting 1,333rd win.
The 69-year-old Nelson has captivated fans for decades with the swashbuckling style he’s allowed his teams to play, but with all his success he has yet to win a NBA championship as a coach, he won 5 as a player, or even lead a team the NBA Finals.
At thirty games below .500, the Warriors have had a below average season, even by their standards.
Fifty years from now no one will remember this Warriors’ team record or the players on the team, but Nelson’s 1,333rd win will be remembered forever by NBA fans everywhere.
