A Little Advice For ‘Big Ben’

Ben RoethlisbergerBen Roethlisberger. Now, just the mention of his name has negative connotation.

Once again, the Pittsburgh Steelers ‘Golden Boy’ and two-time Super Bowl winning QB was accused of sexual assault. This time his accuser is a 20-year-old female college student.

The young woman, according to reports, vows that Roethlisberger sexually assaulted her at Capital City, a night club in Milledgeville, GA.

Two questions came to mind when the story broke a few days ago. Why does Roethlisberger own a home in Milledgeville, GA? And secondly, of all the magnificent cities in the US, why would he choose Milledgeville to host his birthday celebration?

Either way, this accusation causes us all to question the reliability of Roethlisberger’s judgment and also his credibility.

As human beings, we all have and will make mistakes in life, some bigger than others. I can’t and will not sit on a soap box and preach as if I’m the quintessential man because I’m not.

Nevertheless, if the first ‘sexual assault encounter’ didn’t rattle Ben’s cage just a little, then maybe he’s a lost cause. Perhaps he loves living on the edge.

Regardless of what he prefers or how he chooses to live, Roethlisberger must understand that soon he will become a villain in the eyes of the public, even though many guys have been vilified for far less. But that’s a different topic altogether.

My advice to Ben and others like him. Get a camcorder and have your lawyer draft a disclosure statement that requires women, those who wish to engage in sexual acts with you, to sign it.

If that doesn’t work, find a woman with some moral standards and inhibitions and get married, have a kid or two. Do whatever it takes to stay out of the slammer.
