Griffin out for season:The Clippers’ curse continues

Wednesday the Los Angeles Clippers learned that their top draft pick Blake Griffin will miss his entire rookie campaign.

Griffin hasn’t played in one regular season game due to breaking his knee cap in preseason, a week before the regular season began.

The 6-foot-10 forward was expected to return sometime in the next month, but a set back will require him to undergo surgery on that injured left knee. If all goes well, his recovery should take about four months.

Over the past 20 years, Clippers top draft picks, namely those who could change the direction of the franchise, have been hampered by career threatening injuries.

Danny Manning, Michael Olowokandi and Shaun Livingston all fizzled out in L.A.. Blake certainly has the skills to improve the Clippers dramatically, but will his body hold up long enough for that to happen? We’ll know soon enough.
