Finally, The Pistons Win A Game

Just two years ago, the Pistons were still considered among the Eastern Conference elite.

They had been a participant in the conference finals for 6 consecutive seasons. Then came the Chauncey Billups trade and hence the Allen Iverson experiment.

To say the least it failed miserably and since then, the Pistons have struggled to remain relevant in their own division, let alone the conference.

Going into last night’s game against the Washington Wizards, the Pistons had lost 13 games in a row, the second longest in franchise history, but the team managed to win 99-90 over a struggling Wizards team.

Detroit is 13-25 and along with bad play, have suffered from a litany of injuries to key players. Tayshaun Prince, Ben Gordon and Will Bynum all missed the game last night and most nights, at least one of the starters has been on injured reserve.

It appears the Pistons are rebuilding-eagerly awaiting the NBA Draft Lottery- and soon to follow will be traded veterans, a fired coach and GM. Joe Dumars’ run in Mo-Town may soon be a thing of the past.
