Weekly Rewind

The Weekly Rewind is our recap of some of the most captivating stories of the previous week.

Ingram’s Heisman pose– Alabama RB Mark Ingram won the Heisman Trophy on Saturday in New York. Ingram became the third consecutive sophomore to win the award and became the Crimson Tide’s first Heisman winner. With 18 TD’s and 1,542 yards, Ingram edged out runner-up Toby Gerhart by 28 points.

Accenture drops Woods, who’s next?- Accenture PLC, a global consulting firm, severed all ties with Tiger Woods following his recent adulterous scandals. Other companies have also began to digress from the embattled star. Gatorade has plans to stop promoting G2, the Gatorade with Tiger on the front of the bottle, and Tag Heuer has began to move ads containing Woods out of stores. Both companies claim these moves were not a consequence of Mr. Woods recent ‘transgressions’. Yeah right.

B-Kelly is the next former Irish head coach– Brian Kelly is a good coach, but Notre Dame is not Cincinnati nor Central Michigan. In South Bend you don’t play in a conference, you have a major TV deal with NBC and most importantly, you have to win. Because of this, he will be fired in 3 years. He won’t win more than 8 games in a season and their next coach will be a big name, someone who has already won a national title. But good luck anyway Kelly.

Steel-losing– 5 losses in a row and counting. Some analysts are looking at the Steelers’ schedule and predicting wins. But if losing to Browns is any indication of what lies ahead, then the defending champs are in bad shape. They are now 6-7 and currently out of the playoff picture. I predict they’ll finish 8-8.
