Weekly Rewind

The Weekly Rewind is our recap of some of the most captivating sports stories of the previous week.

Roll Tide, Roll!- Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide football team rolled all over the Tim Tebow led Florida Gators 32-13 in Saturday’s SEC championship. Alabama capped a perfect SEC season by decisively beating the defending national champs in a rematch from last season’s SEC championship. Alabama has earned its right to play for the national championship against the Texas Longhorns in the BCS National Championship game. Sorry Cincinnati, TCU and Boise State, better luck next year.

Tiger, Tiger, Tiger- Tiger obviously is not as smart as we thought he was. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not sinless so I can’t throw any stones at anyone, but I can talk about Eldrick’s stupidity. A voicemail. He really left a voicemail on a reality star wannabe’s cell phone. What did he think was going to happen? Either he shouldn’t cheat, because he’s not good at it, or maybe he should hire someone to screen his mistresses and make his calls for him. Come on Tiger!

Saints still streaking!- Yeah the Colts are 12-0 also, but they have started 12-0 before. In contrast, the Saints have been lucky to reach .500 in recent years. With another exciting win on Sunday, 33-30 in OT over the Redskins, they are on pace to go 16-0. One thing we found out on Sunday is that they are going to get everyone’s best game. The Redskins showed up to play.

Roy must have forgot- Captain Hook has lost a step or two or three since the beginning of the decade. Roy Jones Jr. lost again on Wednesday night, this time it happened in the first round against Danny Green for the IBO world cruiserweight title. Jones was TKO’d in the first round, 122 seconds to be exact. The 40 year-old Jones should retire before he embarrasses himself like Tyson, Holyfield, Foreman and so many others before him.
