Owning a NASCAR team is tough, I’m sure. And apparently pretty expensive. So when the money begins to run dry, what does one do to save your sister’s boyfriend’s team? Mail fraud, Duh!
Donna White, 48, who pleaded guilty to mail fraud, is scheduled to be sentenced March 11, said U.S. Attorney Jim Letten’s office. Prosecutors said that Daniel Kinney, 44, of Kentucky also pleaded guilty to mail fraud in connection with the case. Kinney is White’s sister’s boyfriend.
White admitted stealing about $12.7 million from John W. Stone Oil Distributors, a Gretna company that operates throughout the state [Louisiana].
The money was used to finance personal expenses, gambling and Kinney’s racing team. Kinney is the owner of Premier Motorsports, which has competed in the NASCAR Busch Series, the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series and several other events over the past decade, the release said.
Whatever happened to letting someone live out their dreams? I thought this was America!
