Weekly Rewind

The Weekly Rewind is our recap of some of the captivating stories of the previous week.

Gone too soon– Jasper Howard was laid to rest last week, but his memory will live on forever at UConn. He was celebrated before UConn’s home game against Rutgers on Saturday afternoon, The Scarlet Knights won 28-24. Howard’s girlfriend, Daneisha Freeman, is pregnant with his child, a child he’ll never know. Arrests have been made in connection with his murder.

Winning in Lambeau isn’t hard for Favre– In case you forgot, Favre has won nearly 66% of his games as a Packer at Lambeau field and his winning ways continued as he led the Vikings to a 38-26 win over the division rival. Favre threw for 244 yards and 4 TD’s. The Vikings have a 2.5 game lead in the NFC North. Surprisingly, Favre was booed by the fans that once adored him, but after he retires, he’ll be back in the good graces of the Packer community.

Did he say Crystal Meth?- Tennis great Andre Agassi has opened up his own little version of Pandora’s Box. He’s released excerpts of his autobiography and many of the them have included shocking secrets about the star. The most shocking, at least in my opinion, is that Agassi admitted he was a Crystal Meth user. I thought the rich guys went for cocaine? It seems the only way the once super-famous, still rich stars can remain relevant is to release a sex tape or a tell all book.

Whats eating Gilbert Arenas?- He’s played 15 games in the last 2 NBA seasons and signed a $100M-deal in 2008, its about time he got serious. So far this season, Agent Zero or Hibachi has made no public appearances. Only Gilbert Arenas has shown up. He’s averaging 28 points and 6.7 assists through the Wizards first three games and looks like he’s all business. If healthy, he’ll be a NBA 1st-teamer.
