With every passing day, things get even rougher for poor Rich Rodriguez. The man’s heart is being ripped out of him on the field and off it. There’s only so much crying a man can do. But the hits just keep coming. And the tears probably will keep shedding.
And to make matters worse, the practice-gate scandal that could ultimately cost him his job (if the on-the-field performance doesn’t kill him) just won’t go away.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan says the beleaguered football program failed to file mandatory monthly logs that track how much players work out and practice.
University auditors were unable to find reports used to document how much time football players spend in the work room and on the practice field.
Its report said: “At the time of the review, which was after the 2008-2009 season, no logs had been submitted by football coaches.”
Time looks to be wearing thin for ol’ Rich Rod.
