Need a new book for your book club? Don’t lie, you know you’re a member of a book club. There’s no shame in that. And I’m not here to make fun of your book club. I wanna help out by giving you the heads up on Chad Ochocinco’s new book. Can I do that? Good.
As I mentioned, Ochocinco has new book set to be released on October 27th. It is properly titled, “Ocho Cinco”. In it, Ochocinco provides tales of growing up in Miami, his relationships with women and he even offers up some nuggets about the Bengals organization.
Sean Leahy over at USA Today got his hands on an advance copy of the book and he shares some of things Ochocinco states about the Bengals organization. All of which, shouldn’t surprise anyone.
“We don’t have a general manager. We have the fewest scouts in the league. Yeah, we have some great players, like me, Carson Palmer, T.J. (Houshmandzadeh, now in Seattle), Levi Jones (now a free agent), Stacy Andrews (now in Philadelphia). But we need more. We need to keep more of the guys we have, like Justin Smith (signed by San Francisco in 2008) and guys like that. Every time we start to make progress, we go backward. We have Willie Anderson playing and we let him go over a little bit of money.”
Well that’s obvious, Chad. What else you got?
“[Team President/Owner] Mike Brown doesn’t have any real help, he doesn’t have enough help. He doesn’t trust anybody to tell him, ‘Hey, we gotta change this.’ Marvin Lewis wants to help, but all Mike does is tell him to coach. … We need to get real help. I’ve been here eight years. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. I’ve seen how it works. After a while, you start to see where the problems are and you say to yourself, ‘What can I really do?’ At a certain point, it’s out of your hands.”
Could be a good read for your nonexistent book club. I suggest you get it. And relax, I won’t tell anyone about that book club that you’re not a member of.
