NBA Previewin’: Toronto Raptors

Have you checked the calendar lately?  It’s October! And there’s a special feeling in the air. The feeling of NBA action!

Yes, that time is almost upon us.  While we’re waiting, let’s embark on a journey to preview each and every team in the association.

Just so we’re clear, we won’t make any promises about how we’ll treat your beloved franchise.  We may praise them.  We may mock them.  Just be certain that we will preview them in some sort or fashion.

Let’s head to Canada and talk Toronto Raptors.

How did they fare last season?  The Raptors finished the season 33-49, a game better than the Knicks. Accomplishment?  I think not.

New to Toronto: DeMar DeRozan (9th pick in the draft), Jarrett Jack, Rasho Nesterovic, Marco Belinelli, Devean George, Amir Johnson, Hedo Turkoglu, Sonny Weems, Antoine Wright

Back in the US: Pops Mensah-Bonsu, Anthony Parker, Carlos Delfino, Kris Humphries, Nathan Jawai, Shawn Marion, Roko Ukic

Who should be the starting 5?
C Andrea Bargnani
PF Chris Bosh
SF Hedo Turkoglu
SG Marco Belinelli
PG Jose Calderon

The outlook for the season: The Raptors expect big things this season. As they should since they brought in 200 new players. Most of the players will help, but there’s only one player that will matter. And that’s Chris Bosh.

The start will be key for the Raptors. If they start fast, they just may be able to keep Chris Bosh around long term. And while they’re at it, they just might make a playoff run. If they start slow, Bosh may be gone before the season ends and off to the lottery they will go. My vote is for the latter.

Hey look, it’s a top 10 plays video.

Eastern Conference

Washington Wizards | Milwaukee Bucks | New York Knicks

Western Conference

Sacramento Kings | Memphis Grizzlies | Oklahoma Thunder
