NBA Previewin’: New York Knicks

Have you checked the calendar lately?  It’s October! And there’s a special feeling in the air. The feeling of NBA action!

Yes, that time is almost upon us.  While we’re waiting, let’s embark on a journey to preview each and every team in the association.

Just so we’re clear, we won’t make any promises about how we’ll treat your beloved franchise.  We may praise them.  We may mock them.  Just be certain that we will preview them in some sort or fashion.

Time to talk about the New York Knickerbockers

How did they fare last season? Mike D’Antoni’s boys finished the season 32-50.  Just 30 games out of first place in the Atlantic Division.

Who’s new to the Big Apple? Jordan Hill (8th pick in the draft), Toney Douglas (29th pick in the draft), Gabe Pruitt, Darko Milicic

Who was sent packing to make room for Lebron?
Chris Wilcox, Quentin Richardson (to Grizzlies)

Who should be the starting 5?
C David Lee
PF Al Harrington
SF Jared Jeffries
SG Wilson Chandler
PG Nate Robinson

The outlook for the season: Everyone knows that this year doesn’t mean squat. The Knicks are focused on next summer. But since this is a preview of this year’s Knicks, I guess I’ll try to shiny up the outlook for this year.

Let’s see……they re-signed David Lee and Nate Robinson. That was a must. And frankly, they would’ve had no chance to make a playoff push without those two. Do I think it will be enough? No. But the Knicks must find a way to at least be competitive if they expect to lure King James away from Cleveland.

And if they can lure him away, they won’t have to run on the court when he comes to town.

Eastern Conference

Washington Wizards | Milwaukee Bucks

Western Conference

Sacramento Kings | Memphis Grizzlies | Oklahoma Thunder
