In with the old: Patriots re-sign 40-year old Seau

The Patriots have become considerably younger over the past couple of seasons especially on the defensive side of the ball.

They’ve lost veteran defensive players Teddy Bruschi, Rodney Harrison, Mike Vrabel and Richard Seymour to retirement and trades, but one of those players has decided to come back.

The eldest of the bunch, LB Junior Seau has decided to come out of retirement at the age of 40 on Tuesday.

A 12-time Pro Bowler, Seau will give the Patriots some much needed help at the inside linebacker position, a position where they lack additional bodies.

Whether the team signed Seau to be a veteran voice in the huddle or as a security measure, his presence alone should give the Pats defense a much needed boost.

Seau gave up a nice T.V. job with Versus to return to the NFL for season 20, you can watch his reality series ” Sports Jobs with Junior Seau” which premieres Dec. 2.
