College Football Week Eight: What We Learned

Ron Zook will be back in 2010. Big mistake by Illinois bringing him back for another year. Illinois is 1-6 and I can honestly say I’m not surprised at all. Zook is a terrible head coach and the only thing he is good at is recruiting. If you don’t believe me, just ask Florida.

Cincinnati is getting no respect. After beating down Louisville 41-10, they get dropped to #8 in the BCS. Now, I don’t think they are better than Florida or Alabama, but I know they are better than Iowa.

I already knew this, but CJ Spiller is a beast. Miami had no answer for Spiller who ran a kickoff back, caught a 56 yard touchdown and compiled  310 all purpose yards in a game that put Clemson on top of the ACC Atlantic division. Spiller is now the ACC’s all time leader in all purpose yards and has more games to play.

USC needs to get their defense straight. Oregon State did what it wanted to do against USC’s defense gaining 481 total yards. USC was downright terrible in this game and if they play this way against Oregon, not only will they lose but they will be blown out.
