The week that Mike Vick has been waiting over two years for is finally here. This is the week that he gets to play regular season football. Though we don’t know how or when he’ll be used, it certainly won’t meet the expectations that Vick had coming into this season.
Vick, in an interview with CBS to air Sunday, said he thought he would be a starting quarterback upon his return to the NFL.
“This is not the exact scenario I thought would play out,” Vick told CBS. “I thought I’d be playing with a team and actually starting.”
There’s no disputing what Mike Vick brings to the table, but there’s no way that he is ready to be a starter at this junction.
But with Donovan McNabb’s injury and Kevin Kolb’s lackluster play, who knows? Maybe Vick gets a chance to make his expectations a reality.
