JR Rider Wants One More Opportunity To Reek Havoc On A NBA Franchise

You remember JR, oh excuse me, Isaiah Rider. Yeah, he of “East Bay Funk” and well that’s about it. Yeah, he scored a little here, got arrested a little there. A real overachiever during his time in the NBA.

That being said, if you found yourself ever wondering what Mr. Rider has been up to lately, the Star Tribune has that covered for you. He wants to play in the NBA again, despite a career that lasted longer than it should have.

One of the baddest of bad boys in recent NBA history — former Timberwolf J.R. Rider — is negotiating a return to professional basketball in the United States at age 38.

No biggie. I want to play professional basketball too, but no one is signing me. This will all pass because no one has interest in signing JR Rider either. Oh they do?

The owner of the first-year North Texas Fresh in the American Basketball Association said this morning that he is “in the process of getting it done” and bringing Rider on board.

Owner Jay Bowdy said that Rider has another offer in play from a team overseas, where players can make more money.

The New Jersey Nets are considering inviting Rider to preseason camp, Lee said, even though that team said it doesn’t see Rider competing for a roster spot.
