Just two days after ending his holdout, Cincinnati Bengals’ rookie tackle, Andre Smith injured his left foot. Aside from all the jokes that could be made about this situation and the fat clause that he has in his contract, there are differing of opinions on just how long he will be out.
The Bengals say a few weeks:
“Our medical staff tells me the injury will not require surgery,” coach Marvin Lewis said. “It’s too soon to closely predict how long it will be before he can return to practice, but it looks like he’s going to miss a few weeks.”
NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora says as little as 7 to 10 days.
Bengals rookie OT Andre Smith is expected to miss two weeks with a stress fracture in his left foot, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
The stress fracture, which Smith suffered Tuesday, likely will keep him off the field for seven to 10 days, and then he is scheduled to resume normal work.
Seeing as though we’re talking about the Bengals, something tells me he will be out longer than everyone believes.
