Your NFL Preseason Power Rankings: 24-17

Keezy W. will be handling this season’s NFL power rankings here at No Guts. For some reason he’s a Denver Broncos fan so any jokes about the Broncos or complaints about these rankings should be done in the comments.

24. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This team is not looking good at all with no clear-cut QB, no big time receivers, and a defense that is no longer feared throughout the NFC.

23. Seattle Seahawks

Seattle is trying to surround QB Matt Hasselback with as much talent as they can before his time is up. They haven’t done a bad job in doing so with wide receivers, Deion Branch and T.J. “I Boycott Madden” Houshmandzadeh. The defense will need to step up if they expect to contend.

22.San Francisco 49ers

Coach Mike Singletary seems to have this team headed in the right direction, they just need a quarterback that won’t blow all of their games.

21. Buffalo Bills

For the first time since the days of Jerry Rice, T.O. might be on a team where he isn’t the number one option at receiver because young Lee Evans is a beast. This could prove well for Trent Edwards who has a solid running back behind him in Marshawn Lynch. This team could become a playoff threat if Mr. Owens can keep his cool long enough to let that happen.

20. New York Jets

Will rookie QB Mark Sanchez be the next Carson Palmer or Matt Leinart? Jets fans are hoping he is Palmer without the injuries, but for that to happen they have to find someone for him to throw the ball to. The running game and defense will have to hold the team together until Sanchez is up to NFL speed.

19. New Orleans Saints

The offense in the Nawlins should be damn near impossible for any defense in the NFC to stop with weapons all over that side of the ball. It’s the defense that has them ranked so low, which has always been a problem for the Saints and it doesn’t look to change this year.

18. Washington Redskins

The Redskins are always a hit or miss team; they are the Yankees of the NFL without the rings to show for it. The defense looks to dominate this year with all of the young talent and the additions of top free agent Albert Haynesworth and rookie Brain Orakpo. Jason Campbell is underrated and looks to shine this year.

17. Houston Texans

A young team that hopes to finally make the playoffs for the first time in franchise history looks to have its best shot at it this year behind a solid running game and defense. If Matt Schaub can find Andre Johnson, watch out. But if he gets hurt again then this team can scratch those playoff hopes because Rex GROSSman is waiting.
