Weekly Rewind

The Weekly Rewind is our recap of some of the most captivating sports stories of the previous week.

Tiger choked!- I’m pretty sure Tiger is drinking himself into submission after losing a lead in the final round of the PGA Championship on Sunday. For the first time in his unparalleled career, Woods finally gave one away at Hazeltine to Yang Yong-eun of Korea. With this loss, Woods ends the season without a major victory, better luck next tear Tiger.

Vick lands in Philly– Whether they like it or not, schizophrenic Eagles fans have a new back up, soon to be starting, quarterback on the roster. Owner Jeff Laurie and head coach Andy Reid obviously believe Vick is the future of the organization, or their just plain stupid. Good to see #7 back on the field, McNabb must be shaking in his boots, if not, he should be.
Pitino got caught– Is he sorry he banged some chick on a restaurant floor? No, he’s sorry he got caught. Of course we all deserve second chances, but I need to hear more apologetic dialogue from the Louisville head man before he swiftly sweeps this topic under the rug. Man, where were all the Karen Syphers when I was single, perhaps that’s what Pitino was thinking while he was nailing her. He’ll be fine.

Head shots– David Wright took a massive pitch to the dome from Giants pitcher Matt Cain on Saturday. It’s time for the MLB to invest their money, time and efforts into finding or creating new helmets before someone gets killed. Forget steroids, lets protect the hitters.

Beauty vs. Beast– Basically that’s how this fight was promoted, though those exact words weren’t used. Gina Carano is a beautiful woman and even a pretty good fighter, but she should never, ever again in life think about getting back into the octagon with Cris ‘Cyborg’ Santos. On Saturday night in San Jose, Santos clearly showed she’s a superior fighter. Hopefully, for the sake of guys like me, Carano will quit fighting and become a Playmate.
