Billy Gillispie’s post-Kentucky era isn’t going to well. He hasn’t secured another gig, he’s in the midst of trying to get paid from Kentucky, and now he’s been popped for DUI.
Former University of Kentucky basketball coach Billy Gillispie is lodged in Franklin County Regional Jail this morning, after he was arrested in Anderson County and charged with DUI.
WLEX is reporting that Gillispie, 49, was arrested on U.S. 127 at 2:45 a.m. when someone spotted his 2009 Mercedes driving erratically. A passenger, 42-year-old Charles O’Conner, was also arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication, the station reported.
Gillispie is no stranger to the wild world of driving under the influence.
- In 1999, he was popped for driving while intoxicated and improper use of a lane, which was reduced to reckless driving.
- In 2003, he was popped for suspicion of drunken driving.
So it’s to say that Gillispie has a love for the sauce. It just may be time for Billy to get himself some help.
