While MLB teams are teasing us with blockbuster deals, the NBA is picking up the slack by forcing useless trades down our throat.
ESPN’s Mark Stein is reporting that the Bobcats and Hornets have agreed in principle to a trade that will send Tyson Chandler to the Charlotte Bobcats and Emeka Okafor to the Hornets. Does it make either one of them contenders next year? Doubtful. But it’s something. The Hornets seem to be getting the better of the deal, but I wonder about playing Okafor and David West together.
In other utterly useless NBA trade news, Minnesota Timberwolves’ GM, David Kahn showed his affinity for point guards once again by trading Etan Thomas and two second-round drafts in next year’s draft for Chucky Atkins and Damien Wilkins. I won’t waste your time analyzing who got the better of this deal because, well, it’s a waste of time.
But thanks for the trades anyway, NBA. We appreciate the effort.
