Ok, I’m not sure if Indians’ fans have “tapped out” yet, but at 29-39 and in last place in the AL Central, the Indians are doing their best to make them submit. But Cleveland fans are pretty tough. When your teams are the Browns, Indians, and Cavs, submission isn’t a word in your vocabulary. Well enough of my rambling, let’s get on to why we’re here.
Jerry “The King” Lawler, World Wrestling Entertainment announcer, gave the Indians an official WWE championship belt before Tuesday’s game. Travis Hafner, a big wrestling fan, will present the belt to the Indians’ player of the game after each victory. At the end of the season, the player who has won it the most will get to keep the belt.
Forget giving the belt to whoever wins the most “player of the game” awards, give the fans something that will really entertain them. At the end of the season, invite all the fans back to the ballpark to watch their Indians in a battle royal. And the winner of that will take home the belt. The Cleveland fans will love it. They will finally see some fight in their Indians and they will have the best time they’ve had all season.
