NBA great, philanthropist and author Alonzo Mourning can now add washed up trash talker to his resume since retiring from the NBA. Recently, Mourning stated that Phil Jackson is a horrible or incapable coach.
To tell you the truth, Phil doesn’t have to do anything but call time outs, said Mourning, the former NBA star who helped lead the Miami Heat to the 2006 championship and twice was named the league’s defensive player of the year.
Kobe is the facilitator. He is the one driving the mission of this particular team right now, he said. The communication level he has with his teammates out there, you can just see it.
I think Phil is just showing up, to tell you the truth, and Kobe is doing all the work to make this team successful.
Harsh words from a man that won his only NBA championship riding the coat tails of D-Wade and Shaq. I agree, Phil has been blessed to coach the best player in the league, 3 times (Jordan, Shaq, and Kobe), but those same players did not win multiple championships until he became their coach. Gotta give credit to the ‘Zen Master’, he gets the most out of his players.
Back to Zo. He, of all people, should be careful about what he says about others because his squeaky clean image appears to be a front according to one his former fans. Check out this video.
