King James wins mvp award

According to AP reports, Lebron James will be named the NBA’s MVP today at 4:00pm. The announcement is expected to be made at a press conference held at James’ alma mater, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio.

Lebron led to Cleveland Cavaliers to a team record 66 wins and have attained home court advantage throughout the playoffs as the overall number one seed.

During the course of the regular season, Lebron averaged 28.4 ppg, 7.6 rpg and 7.2 apg. He is the third youngest to win the award and the second player to average at least 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists a game for 5 consecutive seasons. (Oscar Robertson)

James also finished second in votes for the Defensive Player of the Year award. Cleveland will host the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday in Cleveland for game 1 of the eastern conference semis.
