UConn women reach perfection, can you say 39-0?

For the sixth time in school history the women of UConn are national champs. They defeated the Louisville Cardinals 76-54 on Tuesday night in St. Louis. To say they were dominate would be an understatement. Not only did they win every game this season, but they defeated every opponent by double-digits.

All-Americans Maya Moore and Renee Montgomery had stellar games, each scored 18 points, but the star of the night was Tina Charles. The junior center led the team with 25 points and 19 rebounds, Charles was named Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four.

The Husky women hadn’t won a title since 2004, but win each time they play in the title game. Coach Geno Auriemma improves to 6-0 in national championship games and creeps closer to Tennessee’s Pat Summit who has eight. Auriemma has led the Huskies to 6 titles since 1995, true dominance.
