So much for working things out. The Broncos have given up on Jay Cutler and now they are looking to move the unhappy Cutler. Even though we would be weary of adding the whiny Cutler, there will be a multitude of teams looking to give their best pitch to Broncos in the next few weeks. We’ll take a look at a few of those teams and the chances they have of landing Cutler.
This should be a no-brainer. The Broncos get the #1 pick and any other player(s) that make the deal work and the Lions get Cutler. It’s a win-win for both franchises. The Broncos can take their pick on who they think is the best player in the draft while the Lions get their new face of the franchise. It sounds so good that I’m sure it won’t happen.
They should be one of main players in all this, but they probably won’t be. For some reason, the Vikings seem to be willing to roll with Sage Rosenfels and Tavaris Jackson. Good luck with that.
Another team that should be in the mix but as long as Jerry Angelo is involved, the Bears aint trading for Jay Cutler.
New York Jets
Many feel like they are the favorite but it’s yet to be seen if Rex Ryan wants Cutler. To this point, Ryan has only been concerned with his defense and last I checked, Jay Cutler can’t play outside linebacker in the 3-4 scheme.
There are rumors that Broncos coach, Josh McDaniel may like Brady Quinn. There are also rumors that Jets coach, Eric Mangini may not like Brady Quinn. If both of those are true, a Cutler, Quinn swap would make sense.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Call me crazy, but don’t be surprised if the Buccaneers are the team to get Cutler. Cutler will be able to walk into a team with a ton of potential and the Broncos will not have to worry about dealing with the #1 pick price tag.
The next few weeks should be festive with the draft approaching and now this. The NFL offseason has finally began!
