For those of you who may have missed it, Roy Jones Jr defeated some dude named Omar Sheika in a bout in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida Saturday night. With the win, Jones captured the North American Boxing Association’s vacant light heavyweight championship. Seeing as though I have never heard of the North American Boxing Association, I don’t really see this victory as a big deal. Unfortunately for us, the now 40 year old, Roy Jones does see it as a big deal. In fact, the victory reaffirms his addiction to boxing. His words, not mine.
Don’t you understand?” Jones said after the referee stopped the fight at 1:45 of the fifth round Saturday night. “I haven’t learned that yet. I’m going to rehab.
At this point, all I need to do is give you the quotes from this story to show you just how delusional he has become.
I’m glad the referee did stop the fight before I messed him up even more, Jones said.
I’m not going to call any people by their names, but if you’ve got a belt tied to your waist you already know, Jones said.
You’re 40 years old Roy. Why won’t you just sit your tail down somewhere? As far as I’m concerned, you were done the exact moment you gave us this.
