6 OT Thriller in the Garden: Syracuse tops Uconn

In a game for the ages, Syracuse prevailed 127-117 in a battle of wills over UConn in a Thursday night/Friday morning thriller in Madison Square Garden. The Madness of March has started a week early.

The 6 over-time classic is longest game ever played in the Big East Tournament and the second longest game in NCAA history.

A game that lasted nearly 4 hours saw 9 players foul out which allowed walk-on players to see game action. Syracuse G Johnny Flynn led all scorers with 34 while A.J. Price manged to put in 33pts. before fouling out in the 6th over-time.

The good news for the Orangemen is that they won the game, the bad news is they have to play tomorrow night in a Big East semi-final against West Virginia. I’m sure coach Bob Huggins enjoyed all 70 minutes of the Garden epic battle.

March Madness has officially arrived!
