Rex Ryan Is Not Wasting Any Time Killing Expectations For Next Season

Rex Ryan seems to have a vision for how he wants the Jets to look next season. Yet, I’m almost certain that it won’t match the vision of many Jets’ fans.

Ryan’s vision? Give the Jets a complete face lift.

The fans’ vision? Add a piece or two that may put them over the top.

The vision that is winning out so far? Ryan’s of course. In the short time that Buddy’s boy has been the head man, he has seen his starting quarterback retire, he’s released starting tight end, Chris Baker, he’s yet to resign fullback, Tony Richardson, and he’s expected to release guard, Brandon Moore. With all that said, Ryan topped it all yesterday when he allowed Laveranues Coles to walk away from the Jets with a year left on his contract. All because Coles was looking for a long term deal.

So if you’re keeping score at home, the Jets now lack an experienced quarterback AND a seasoned #1 receiver. For the fan’s sake, I hope that ‘D’ that Rex prides himself in is a monster. But we can always look on the bright side Jets’ fans. Just think, this time next year you’ll be getting excited about the chance to draft Sam Bradford. That deserves a hearty, J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS. Right?
