The fans have spoken, Dwight Howard has received more votes than any other All-Star in NBA history. The Orlando Magic center received more than 3 million fan votes and will be the starting center for the Eastern Conference in the All-Star game, which will take place on Febuary 15th in Phoenix.
In his 5th year, Howard has become a dominate force in the league; he’s averaging 20ppg., 14rpg. and 3bpg. Not only will Howard play in the All-Star game, but he will be defending his slam dunk title from 2008.
Of all the current and previous great players in the league, how did Howard receive the most votes in All-Star history? Well, simply put, the guy knows how to have fun, he’s a showman. He is one the few players that realizes that his lifestyle is made possible by fans.
The typical young, rich athlete will often display a sense of entitlement or arrogance, but Howard actions contradict that notion. He engages the fans every time he takes the court and they love him for it, besides everyone loves Superman!
