Notre Dame Has To Be Close To Setting The Record For The Most Losses On ESPN In A Single Season

That’s right, the Fighting Irish have 7 losses this season and all 7 have been on the “ESPN family of networks”. ESPN was there when the Irish got slaughtered by then #1 North Carolina. They were there when UConn snapped the nation’s longest home court winning streak. They have even been there every step of the way during the Irish’s recent four game losing streak.

My question is, does anyone know the record for the most losses on ESPN? Does anyone even keep up with that kind of thing? I mean, if we’re subjected to watching the Irish play once or even twice a week, we might as well be notified if we’re watching history unfold right before our eyes. That’s the least ESPN can do.

And if the historical milestone hasn’t been hit just yet, no need to fret. I’ve counted 8, yes 8 more times that the Irish will be playing on The World Wide Leader In Sports. Which, by my calculations, will put Notre Dame at 19 appearances on ESPN this season. 19 appearances out of 30 games, Digger must be pulling some maaaajor strings.
