During last night’s Fiesta Bowl (the best BCS bowl thus far, go figure), Fox showed no “shame in their game” by making sure that every viewer knew that they can buy the replays of every BCS game from iTunes. (We were reminded at least 3 times, might I add)
I thought to myself, “this has to be a joke”. So out of curiosity I fired up iTunes and searched for “BCS games”, and low and behold, there they were. It even seems that Fox has been doing this since 2007. Am I the only one who didn’t know about this?
Besides finding useless replays, I even found out an interesting tidbit. The Cotton Bowl is also considered a BCS Bowl. When did this happen? Oh, that’s right. It never happened. Yet, that doesn’t seem to bother Fox:
I will refrain from commenting on how desperate it seems to add a non BCS game to your “BCS game replays” package because it was actually one of the better games of the bowl season. I’ll just stick to the idea as a whole.
So let me get this straight. You want me to pay $2.99 for replays of games that I couldn’t bring myself to finish when they were shown on television for FREE? You know, McDonald’s has just unveiled the Double Cheeseburger Combo for $2.99. I think I will go with that. And I don’t even eat beef!
