Okay, we all know its been 100 years (1908) since the Chicago Cubs have won the World Series, but the last couple of seasons they have showed some promise during the regular season, I repeat the regular season. The Cubs have won back-to-back NL Central titles, 2007 & 2008, for the first time since 1907-08 seasons, and finished 97-64 this year, so I understand the optimism Cubs fans may be feeling. But lets pace ourselves, remember we are talking about the Chicago Cubs; they are fun to watch and Wrigley Field is magical, but they always disappoint. So before we get too carried away with World Series talk, like many Cub fans and wishful sports writers have, lets wait to see if they get past the 1st round of the playoffs. Even before I could finish this story the Cubs strike again, they lost 7-2 to the LA Dodgers in Game 1 of the NLDS, 7 post-season losses in a row and counting.
